Mummery + Schnelle was established in 2007 by Andrew Mummery and Wolfram Schnelle. The gallery exhibited international contemporary art, building on an artist base established by Andrew Mummery that was focused mainly on painting and photography. The gallery's critical approach aimed to generate dialogue and debate through a phenomenological reading of art and its reception, and to consider the gallery as a meeting space for artists, scholars and collectors. Many of its exhibitions were complimented by a series of commissioned texts and publications, which remain available via this website.
The gallery's exhibition space was closed in 2014, but works by selected gallery artists are available for viewing by appointment. Andrew Mummery will continue to work on individual projects with artists who exhibited with Mummery + Schnelle and he can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org
